Are you ready to take a tour? I have been working on revamping MY TELETHERAPY HOME OFFICE space for some time now. I am excited to say it is FINALLY finished. I couldn’t be more happy with my office makeover. I can’t express how important it is to create a space that you love. I created a space that is decorated to my style with the tools I need to get my work done efficiently! This space lets my creative juices flow. Let’s take a quick mini tour!
Throughout the tour, I will share with you some of my must haves for My Teletherapy Room. When I moved to teletherapy, I ditched all my “hands on” materials because I personally don’t like clutter plus I never use it. This is just another reason why working from home suits me so well! The only therapy material I have in my office is a pair of dice and a few books from grad school that I can’t part with.
Let’s talk about tech.
Computers/External Monitor
I currently have two computers in my office. This is not necessary for teletherapy however having multiple monitors IS A MUST. I have my work laptop that is connected to my Samsung external monitor that I purchased at Costco. The size of your external monitor is personal preference. If you have the space for a monitor that can be bigger, it allows for the video of your students to be larger. The Imac is my personal computer that I use for my creative work as a photographer, blogger, and TPT author.
External Hard Drives
I have two that I use to back up all my therapy materials, copies of my licensures, and any other digital possessions I have. You can use an online storage tools but an external hard drive comes without monthly fees and it helps me to keep my desktop free of clutter. If I need something, I can grab it quickly. Amazon is a great place to grab an external hard drive!
External USB Port
I seem to never have enough USB ports so I purchased this one (click here) from Amazon. When my sports watch, headphones, external hard drive, and whatever gadget I have that needs to be connected, I don’t have to mess with unplugging and replugging back in due to space issues.
Headphones
I get asked about headphones frequently. I can only suggest to do your research. You need to think about comfort, compatibility with your computer, and price. Gaming headsets seem to be frequently used in teletherapy but they can be bulky and pricey. Your place of employment might also offer a headset to you as part of your contract. Take some time and do your research to find one that works for you. Here are the ones I have purchased on Amazon. (CLICK HERE)
Now for the fun part…DECOR!
REAL HOUSE PLANTS are beautiful. I don’t have a green thumb but luckily I have a step daughter who does! I have windows in my office that give off just enough light for them to thrive.
Planners, journals, pictures, art, and my favorite coffee mug goes perfectly in my space. Most of my decor was purchased at hobby lobby. I never pay full price for the final touches in any space. I took a chance and ordered my office furniture online and LOVED IT!
I also have a few of my favorite quotes/scriptures in my space that resonate well with my soul. They are….
“Be still my soul” and “Let all that you do be done in love.”
Thanks for stopping by My Teletherapy Room for my HOME OFFICE EDITION!!!
